Philippines Iglesia Ni Cristo Day

Why so many churches claim so many members around the world.?

For example, when I was a missionary in the Philippines. I only saw three religions there. , Catholic, Iglesia ni Cristo and the Mormons in each city. I also saw a Foursquare church building once a Jew, and that's all. I literally spoke thousands of people and I just met a JW and SDA. The rest were Catholics, the Church or the Mormons. However, Jehovah's Witnesses and Adventists Seventh-day state that the largest churches in 3 and 4 there with hundreds of thousands of members. Baptists say the same but I never met a single person who was a Bautista. The same with the Assemblies of God. How is it that all these religions have no buildings there and I never met someone?
